Slackware not recognizing my hard drive? I can't even load bare.i from the cd

I have a serial ATA hard drive. When I try to install slackware, I load bare.i. It just hangs after about 20 seconds of doing stuff. It says some stuff about unknown IDE devices, resource conflicts, and things like that.

Does slackware recognize serial ata hard drives?

It doesn't .

You'll need to install using a normal hard drive, patch the kernel to support SATA (-ac includes it), then copy everything over to the sata drive. this is not pretty.
