Slackware Live Edition - iso2usb.sh - Failed to make USB device bootable 'gptmbr.bin' not found!
Hello,
I tried to make bootable Slackware Live using iso2usb.sh using 2 different computers - result: USB stick can not boot.
On each computers I have the same information using iso2sub.sh:
"
Failed to make USB device bootable - 'gptmbr.bin' not found! "
I used command:
Code:
sudo ./iso2usb.sh -i slackware-live-xfce-current.iso -o /dev/sdb -w 15 -v
I assumed that I don't need to prepare USB stick before using iso2usb.sh.
I used '
latest/slackware-live-xfce-current.iso '- I beleve is 1.3.3 version with
http://taper.alienbase.nl/cgit/liveslak/tree/iso2usb.sh
How to fix this issue?
iso2usb.sh log:
Code:
$ sudo ./iso2usb.sh -i slackware-live-xfce-current.iso -o /dev/sdb -w 15 -v

On what system are you running the script?
I ask because it looks for gptmbr.bin in /usr/share/syslinux/ and it should find it there if the syslinux package is installed.

Issues wrt my liveslak scripts can be reported on my blog.
But Didier already mentioned the likely cause: the script did not run on Slackware, and your OS either does not contain syslinux, or else the file gptmbr.bin is not located in /usr/share/syslinux/ . Either way, patches to resolve this are always welcome, but I will discuss them only on my blog.

* Linux Mint 18 32bit (based on Ubuntu 16.04LTS)
* Linux antiX-17.2 32bit (based on Debian 9 (stretch))
This is good hint - I think both have the same version of syslinux: version 6
