hm, I understand, you do not want to leaf your fingers from the stuff that somewhat burned you out

seriously,
you got the link to SBo, so it should not be that hard to run mono,
I tried it several years ago with on older version, just to evaluate, and more recently I tried mono develop cause there was a D plugin for monodevelop,
so if I was able to install this it should be no problem for you.

I also think that if MS continues with their open source politic C# dotnet could become an interesting alternative.
at the moment I am not sure about Xamarin and MS, but at least it is worth to watch how they develop

lol yeah its not the programming language that burned me out it was doing the same old stuff over and over for different clients. How many variations of an Order Entry, Inventory, etc... systems can you do before it becomes mind numbing.

Yeah MS is trying open source and I think its good. Especially in the long run. Innovation has to come from a free environment not some corporate dictatorship. I used to do C/C++ and assembly but moved to C# back around 2001. I have grown somewhat fond of C#. Still not too impressed with MS Sql Server. I agree it will be interesting to see how the open source movement within MS progresses.
