I really don't know if this is slackware related but whenever I get the newer kernel v2.4.21 and patch it with the lids patch then recompile the kernel with LIDS support my network card doesn't seem to work. even with i modprobe it and use the netconfig utility it doesn't come up. But with the regular slackware 9.0 install it find that 3c59x as the correct module for my NIC card. I really don't know what i'm doing wrong here. I don't know if it is the kernel itself or some other underlying problem with slackware i have spent a whole night trying to figure out this problem any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

I know nothing of LIDS and next to nothing about getting a recompiled kernel to work if it somehow doesn't (the god of kernel recompilation generally smiles warmly on me), but...



.... are you sure you're using the right version? You might accidentally be using an unstable or test version. According to lids.org, the following is the stable release for the 2.4.21 kernel:

yes I use the correct LIDS version i'm just wondering what ACL's i need to add to lidsconf so it will allow users to log into my box with ssh. And as of right now i have no clue.
