Slackware freezes
I have an SiI 3112A sata controller, nforce2 mobo, audigy sound card, and NVidia graphics card. I used the sata.i kernel to install, and I selected the sata.i kernel from the same cd to install. Then when I finally booted up slackware freezes either at the login or at the gnome bootup menu. All I can do is hit the power button to shutdown. Oh i also use grub from another linux distro to bootup and wondered if I am passing the right options to the kernel.
Slackware is setup on the following partitions
/dev/sdb6 is /boot
/dev/sdb7 is /
/dev/sdb8 is /home
My grub slackware info is pretty bare but goes like this.
root (hd1,5)
kernel /<kernel> root=/dev/sdb7
save default
boot
Would this be right? Thanks so much!
