slackware-current and SBo compatible?

I recently upgraded my 14.2 system to current. Everything works fine. But there are some packages from SBo I would like to install (such as Blender, Zoom, etc..), but SBo's latest is 14.2, not current. If I install a 14.2 SBo package, is there any risk of it overwriting any of the libraries or other files to an older version and causing problems?

Ponce is maintaining what will become 15 SBo. That won't happen until current graduates to 15.0.
In the mean time, use the slackbuilds from Ponce. They work on current. If you find one that doesn't work, you can post to that thread and get help.

14.2 scripts may work on current, but its very hit and miss.

You want to switch to the "master" branch: https://git.slackbuilds.org/slackbuilds/

It is tracking -current.

SBo itself stopped taking submissions quite a while ago now in preparation for Slackware 15.0. So lots of packages have kinda been frozen in time for a bit.

Like Camorri said, you might want to have a look at ponce's slackbuilds -current mirror/repo ( https://github.com/Ponce/slackbuilds/tree/current ), lots of work getting those packages working on -current, with more up to date scripts/patches etc. Basically all in preparation for the release of slackware 15.0.

Some of Slackbuilds will still compile even newer versions just by changing the version with the latest source package.
