Slackware CD -- where is it?

Hey all. I pre-ordered my Slackware 8.1 CDs a few weeks ago, thinking I'd do my part rather than just downloading the disk images. I never received any confirmation e-mail, and now that it appears the CDs are shipping, I have received any sort of "your order has shipped" e-mail. Nor have I received any CDs in the mail. I live in the Bay Area, so I would think I'd get mine quick once they are shipped out.

So, has anyone out there received their CDs, and if so, did they get any sort of e-mail confirmation during the process? I sent an e-mail to slackware inquiring about my order on Monday, but got no response. I know they are busy over there, but I just want to know if they are going to ship me anything, or if my order got lost and I should re-submit it.

Is anyone else in this situation? Or did I just slip through the cracks, and need to re-order?

Thanks!

Carl

I received my set last Monday. We were closed over the holiday weekend so the mail was not delivered until Monday. I did not receive any email messages, neither do I think I received any on prior orders.

Check to see if your CC has been charged the $44.95 or whatever the price you paid plus shipping. You should probably contact the location you purchased from as well. If your CC was charged then maybe it was delayed in the mail. If not, then it probably hasn't been shipped either.

Since the order was a preorder, the CC charges were not submitted until ready to ship. Maybe a problem with the card like the expiration date or something (ordered in June but shipped in July). But the site ordered from would be the only reliable source for your purchase. They probably have many orders that were delayed for various reasons.

On my invoice for my Slack 8.1 they have a phone number listed if you would want to call them. If your order was lost they should be able to reprocess it over the phone I would think. My purchase was from the Slackware store. (store.slackware.com)

Slackware Linux, Inc. info@slackware.com
(925) 674-9124 in Concord, CA

Hey all, just an update. My Slackware 8.1 CDs arrived Saturday. I guess that's just the way the ordering processing works at the Slack store; now I know.

Thanks,

Carl
