in console type "xwmconfig" w/o the quotes of course. Select KDE and type in startx....or if you're running at init level 4 then log out and then do all that stuff and everything should be hunky dory(however you spell that).
when you use level 4 at startup, you have to edit /etc/rc.d/rc.4 .
comment out all the Gnome-lines ( put a '#' in front of them : three lines i think,)
KDE will start up at boot.....
