Question slackware 8.1 iso boot nightmare! plz help


slackware 8.1 iso cd wont boot !?

and yes to the fallowing

yes bios is fine!
yes there bootabl cd!
yes cd trayworks

i have herd meny ppl are haveing this problem iv been told to use a tool call smartboot i think or to install via floopy disk to get cd runing...

so i will now try the floopy install method my question is there are two sections of floopy both with say if ur haveing problems booting the slackware cd you will need to use these file (i dont have there name wile im wriging this...) with ones do i use or do i need both

rootdisk
and
boodisk

please i ask all slackware users contact slackware via and let them know that about this problem.

ps:it funny it boot fine on a new pantium 4(my cuzins box) but not on my celeronchip box =(

I had this problem with one of my pc's at home, but not the others. Kind of funny(right). You can get all five install floppies at http://public.ftp.planetmirror.com/p....1/rootdisks/.
Just download install.1 thru install.5.

the problem can mean 2 things

1. your bios is old
2. your cd-rom is not bootable

and if you are planning to boot from disks

than use bootdisks
and ofcourse rootdisks to get the install program working
