Slackware 14.1 + KDE 4.10.5: some minor problems

Hi,

I have some minor problems with KDE 4.10.5.

1. Ark doesn't handle ZIP archives very well. More often than not, it chokes on them. I have unzip installed under the hood, which works fine using the commandline.

2. File refresh is insufficient. When I download a file to a directory, it takes between 5 and 15 seconds to show. Same thing when I delete a file, it just keeps showing, until it eventually decides to disappear. Unless I hit F5 to refresh, of course. My users find this desktop behaviour "amateurish", and I think they are right.

3. Apps like Audacious and Transmission display in their ugly GTK look, even though oxygen-gtk3 is installed.

Any suggestions?

I just found the answer to this point myself. Had forgotten about settings.ini in /etc/skel. Since my user has been created prior to the installation, I had to copy this one over manually.

I haven't seen that running Ark under XFCE.
