slack64

I'm not sure yet. I have slackware 12-2 installed on my main machine and am experimenting with slackware64 (v 13.0) multilib. I want to see if I can get compiz-fusion running on slackware64, along with gnomeslack, crossover for Linux and regular wine. If all works out, then slack64-13.0-multilib for all.

Currently I'm running 64-bit purelib, but I may change to multi-lib at some point if I absolutely have to.

I'm one of those guys that needs a 4th option for both 32 bit and 64 bit. I have 32 bit Slack 13 on one partition and Slack64 pure 64 bit on another partition. Slack64 seems to be a bit faster faster on my system, especially when playing hi-res videos or doing other demanding stuff, although some of the performance boost may be due to the fact that the Slack 32 bit is using ext3 file system, but the Slack64 is using ext4.

Update. WOW!

I've now got Slackware's first 64-bit edition (v. 13.0) up and running with multilib 32, Compiz-Fusion SUPERGRAPHICS, which puts Windows NoVista to shame, along with Codeweavers Crossover Linux, which allows me to run Office 2007 and Office XP at the same time! (I need OfficeXP for the MS Access part, since the 2007 version isn't quite there yet).

Well, Slackware 13 has been out for four months now. Has anyone changed which version they are running.
BTW, Merry Christmas to You and Yours.

Merry Christmas to you as well, cwizardone! The only thing I'm doing differently now is that I'm running a few more -current installations. -Current has been rock-steady for me.

I don't how to vote on this pool.
I have two machines with Slackware 13 64bits. Both of them have installed the packages in /extra to use the old k3b. I think that is the kde3-compat packages. This is the pure 64 bits variation, right?

And I have another machine with Slackware 13 32 Bits Stable.

So I have two Slackware 13 64 bits (Pure 64) and one Slackware 13 32 bits. All them are stable.

Merry Christmas!
Running -current once again with multilib capability. The only problem I have is with xconfig. Running xconfig when trying to compil a kernel hits an error of the compat lib being incompatible? Oh well, there's always menuconfig.
