I was wondering if anybody out there new a fix on the audio issue with one application at the time... for example If I run a flash video with music and try to run mplayer I get the error "AO OSS /dev/dsp device or resource busy"
It means an application is configured to use OSS compatibility instead of the native ALSA for sound. Flash uses alsa by default but mplayer does not. You can either use `mplayer -ao alsa` instead of just `mplayer` or set that in your mplayer config. The same would go for other apps that try to use OSS first -- you can usually set them to use ALSA instead (or sometimes other sound servers).
i think 'pulse audio' will take care of it.
right now i am using a temporary machine. so i cant give the correct configuration. can u please check documentation regarding pusleaudio ?

Well, other than pulseaudio not being part of standard Slackware.
