Slackware 10 ISO's

Here's a link to an ftp server that has the Slackware 10 ISO's. As I have discovered all the mirrors on the Slackware Mirrors only have the file to start downloading from bittorrent and althought the concept is good I can't get good download speeds. So this is for anyone having the same problem

ftp://dl.xs4all.nl/pub/mirror/slackw...so-bittorrent/

I think the included ISO's the server sdmin downloaded from bittorrent because of the file that it's under.

Yes but all of those mirrors point you to the initial bittorrent download. This one actually has the ISO's

Which mirrors on the LQ iso list just point to the torrent? From what I can see only the one marked as Bittorrent links to the torrent.

hi there,

if you just type " slackware iso " in google you will find plenty of mirrors with iso's ,
all around the world.
and you put " xs4all.nl "( good provider btw. ) as a source, but i don't think it will give a good bandwith, when your in Australia or so.
People from everywhere read this forum so, better find a nearby source.

Awwwww! Muffin!

BitTorrent to slow?

How about letting it sit for a while... and upping your upload rate...
Sure it's slow at first, but it will pick up speed with time.

I find bit torrent much faster then local mirrors.

You winked... but still ... just so the young ones here don't get any ideas..

It actually does increase your download speed. However you have to know your internet connection too.. to much upload can bog your modem down for the download.

For example. . .
At around 6k/s upload my download only goes up to about 80k/s.. but if I increase the upload to 25k/s the download will push 350k/s. Now, lastly, if I push my upload to 45k/s or 60k/s my download goes down because my modem is working so hard for the upload.

BTW my max download is around 400k/s and upload is around 120k/s... and that's not on burst, just average.

Myth or not. . . you should not leach.
Bit Torrent takes up 35% of the web's traffic these days... so remember to keep your torrents open after the download is complete. At least until you give as much as you have taken.

"takes up 35% of web traffic"

Firstly bittorrent has nothing to do with the world wide web, secondly if you mean internet, that merely shows how horribly inneffecient it is.

on the slackware mirrors in stead of slackware10-d1.iso it will have slackware10-d1.iso.asc

Clicking on it will bring up your bittorrent client and start the download.
