Make dep is only necessary for 2.4 kernels. You better follow a proper guide for 2.6 kernel compilation.

Guess I followed the 2.4 one too far, went back redid what the 2.4 guide said and switched to the 2.6 where it said to, still got the non existent warnings, is it ok to get them?

Thats what I get after finishing the 2.6 guide and rebooting.

As I said you need to compile filesystem support into the kernel and not as module. If you use sata hdd, you need to enable its support.

Ya I added SATA, the libsata one in scsi and that didnt work, so i tried the other one in ata options and redid th emake stuff, not thinking i now have 2 non working linux boot options now lol
So how do I find what SATA option the sata.i kernel on the install CD uses?
