i don't know why slackpkg tries to pull in all the kde crap (beside all the other packages i don't need), i did not install the k series (i checked wich "slackpkg remove k/*"). i checked the slackpkg mirror, which is fine.
any idea? i have this problem on both of my 32 bit machines.
thanks in advance.

KDE is the kde series, not the k series.

thats true. "slackpkg remove kde/*" returns "The file(s) kde/* can't be removed - package not installed.", so the question still stands.

Try putting "kde" into /etc/slackpkg/blacklist

It should install all new packages added after 14.0. What did you suppose it would have done? "slackpkg install-new" is useful when upgrading the whole system to a new version or when following slackware-current development.
Slackware-14.1 does not get any new packages after release, only (security) updates in /patches. Maybe you meant to launch "slackpkg upgrade patches".

Like Petri already said, if you are running a stable Slackware, there is no need to run "slackpkg install-new". This command is useful if you migrate from one version to the other. What "install-new" does is check the ChangeLog.txt file for your configured Slackware release, and find every package that has "Added." behind it, meaning it was added to Slackware in this particular release.
There is no need to blacklist KDE if you just keep away from using "slackpkg install-new".
