Mplayer may need upgrading in -Current

A few weeks ago I noticed that the audio was running a little faster than video on smplayer. This would normally show up about 30 - 45 minutes into the movie. (Playing movies from .iso images.)
I tried Eric's Mplayer package and it did the same thing.
I then used Eric's build to build the Mplayer package to -Current. Still no luck.
Built Mplayer 1.0rc3. No luck.
Still using Eric's build, I built Mplayer 1.0rc4. That did it.
Now I have perfect audio / video synchronization.

You might write Pat and suggest/report that.

Also, have you tried VLC? It's won me from MPlayer for movies, though MPlayer is still my preference for long mp3 files played through a VT. Maybe if I knew the keybindings for CVLC I'd use it there, also.

Yeah, I like VLC also but I haven't learned how to make it shutdown after playing an iso.
I often go to sleep watching some old boring movie.
After the playback VLC returns to the menu and keeps playing music all night.

A nice graphical way to play a series of audio files is to use the ncurses interface "nvlc". In the ncurses interface, the hotkeys work just as in the Qt GUI:

p : previous song
n : next song
arrow-right : advance into the current song
arrow-left : jump back in the current song
q : quit

You can also use the up/down arrow keys to move in the list of queued songs, then press ENTER to play the highlghted song.

Play a directory of songs for 10 minutes, then quit vlc:
