I'm reinstalling my entire computer, and i'd like to set up a dual boot - WinME and Slack 9. Which should i install first, and could someone point me to a HOWTO or guide of some sort? I tried searching for this, but to no avail, everyones already got one or the other running, and theres work arounds i dont think i need that they did. Oh yeah, I'm a noob still, movin from RH to slack cause redhat was too spoon-feeding, i felt controlled too much by the OS. thanks all for replies and ideas
Install windows first.
Otherwise the windows installation will overwrite the mbr
Slack willl give you the choice at install time that windows doesn't even understand.
Well, i have ME installed now, and i tried goin into fdisk and cfdisk, but theres no way to resize partitions, how do i do that? did i just not see the command or is there a different program? I tried partition magic but it wouldnt apply changes i made for some reason.
what error messages were you getting from partition magig?
You may try running in partitionmagic in DOS using the rescue floppies.
you may want to use the bootmagic bootloader that is included with partitionmagic. However, lilo is tried and true and doesn't require a FAT partition to run.
btw does anyone know of a partitionmagic-like product for linux?
