Slack & Syn Cookie

Hi

I am going to install Slack on my server [running win at the mo].

I have been under syn flood and want to make sure syn cookie is enabled.

Is syn cookie enabled by default with Slack 9.0 or 9.1?

Does it have to enabled during/after installation?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

TIA

Syncookies

I don't think Slackware's init scripts cares about syncookies. Just add the following to your init scripts (for example in /etc/rc.d/rc.local):

Code:
echo "1" > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/tcp_syncookies
And make sure your kernel supports it. The default Slackware kernel does, so you unless you're compiling your own kernel, you don't have to worry about this.
