Slack 9.1 First Boot problems


I feel stupid for posting this, cos im scared teh answer is blatantly obvious, but, Slack installes fine, i boot my Linux partition, and the linux kernel tells me its loaded, but all i get is a command line DOS prompt style thing, no gui, any help would be appreciated

That's the way it goes. Everything's fine. That's where you enter your commands - such as 'startx'. Read the Slackware book and google for some command line tutorials.

Login as root using the password you selected during install. Issue the command xf86config to configure your X server. After that, issue the command startx to start your X server. xwmconfig allows you to select the default window manager.
