Slack 9.0 with two GCC's

I was just told by the developer that OmniBasic (no longer
supported) needs an old version of GCC in order to compile
Basic source to a Linux executable. I don't want to remove GCC
3.2.2 currently installed in my Slackware 9.0. Is it possible
to have two versions resident on the same system and for both
of them to work? How?

Please keep it simple. Not much brain processing power
available here!

you will not be able to use a *.tgz package to install it because the locations are the same. however, if you compile the older version from scratch and then specify new paths for the installation it might work. you will probably also have to create a new folder for those lib files and the add that to your ldconfig path....

kinda' hackish but hey that is what it's all about.....
