Slack 14.2 boot disk does not recognize keyboard
Slackware 14.2 64 bit boot disk, downloaded today 11/23/2017 via alien bob's mirror-slackware script.
The computer is an HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF PC with an AMD Sempron 150, which is supposed to be a 64 bit cpu. A few years ago I was running Slackware 14.1 without any problems.
I am trying to install Slackware 14.2 64 bit. I boot from the boot disk, and and the mouse does not light up, and the keyboard does not do anything. As near as I can tell the USB ports are all dead. They do work from the bios, I can boot to bios and change settings, etc. That tells me that keyboard and usb ports are good. They just aren't recognized by the default kernel of the 14.2 boot disk.
And my question - how can I install Slackware 14.2 in this case, or how can I update the boot disk so it recognizes the keyboard? I'm still working on it, but reached the point there I would welcome any suggestions.
