I am installing Blender 2.8. This is Slackware 14.2, and it is fully up to date. The install always failed, and I tracked it down to opencolorio.
During installation of opencolorio, I get an error that stalls with

Somewhere inside the slackbuild script, you will find the a setting for CFLAGS or maybe SLKCFLAGS. This is where the compiler flags are stored. Add one of the suggested strings to this variable.

Any ideas how to fix this?
you have openimageio already installed: removepkg it from your system (you will have to rebuild it later) then try again to build opencolorio.
