It seems that aMule runs ok with libupnp 1.8.3 (before freezing).
try avoiding libupnp completely (you shouldn't need it) and check if it freezes again.

BTW you should report this kind of issues directly to the maintainer.

I understand that the point of this thread is to report issues with SlackBuilds failing on -current. However, I see also in the 1st post that your repo aims to be an "aid to SBo users that use current on their machines"--on a "best-effort" basis, of course.

With that in mind, I'd like to go ahead and report here the status of the four (admittedly rudimentary) SlackBuilds for which I'm listed as "maintainer." (If this is not the proper venue for these reports/updates, I apologize in advance. I do, of course, plan to officially submit them to SBo once submissions re-open there.)

Here 'goes...

Two of the four (xmms-cue and zseal) work on -current as-is, no modifications needed.

One of them (efax) needs simply (the infamous) SLKCFLAGS="$SLKCFLAGS -fcommon" added.

The fourth, however, took a little massaging. Namely, it's the rtl8192eu kernel module/driver for Realtek-based USB wifi devices. I feel that this one should actually be thought of as a replacement for my present script on SBo. Here is the relevant changelog entry:
Code:
v1.0	04-2020	first edition, under the name "RTL8192" (for Slackware 14.2)
v2.0	09-2021	updated for Slackware 15.0 (but still works w/ 14.2) with several changes:
Upgrade driver version from 5.2.19.1 to 5.6.3.1.
Apply patch by Mange (github) to extend functionality to kernels 5.11 and beyond.
		Expanded/revised README and slack-desc.
Renamed the package and the SlackBuild with "eu" included.
		Added changelog ;-)
Again, apologies if this is not the proper venue for such reports.

In any case, thanks for all you do for the SBo world. It is much appreciated.

PS. If this is an appropriate venue, I would be glad to post/send the fully updated SlackBuild for rtl8192eu, as opposed to just the changelog.
the thing pertinent to this repository is actually just the -fcommon flag for efax: thanks for that, I'll push it ASAP!

in regard for rtl8192 the rename should be actually handled as a new submission and as such should go through the submission form when submission will reopen: if the old rtl8192 script won't build anymore the best option ATM, if a rename is mandatory, should be to remove it from the repository.

It freezes without libupnp too. I will send an e-mail to the maintainer.

I noticed that https://slackbuilds.org/repository/1...bdleds-plugin/ shows orphaned and its not in the ponce repo.
This appears to be the new home https://github.com/oco2000/xfce4-kbdleds-plugin based on this thread https://forum.xfce.org/viewtopic.php?id=5954&p=2
I was able to compile and build it so it should be easy to wrap a Slackbuild around it. I asked on the forum to double check.
The owner of icecat asked if I wanted it when I asked about a newer version. As it is a pretty big project I'm hesitant to accept, but I was able to take some of the build flags from the old Slackbuild and Pat's builddeps from Firefox and actually got it to build. So I might be able to do it if no one else that knows what they are doing takes it. Maybe I was the only one who used it?
if you want to submit a script for something not in the repo anymore, like xfce4-kbdleds-plugin, you should go through the submission form when submissions will reopen (yes, new submissions are still on hold).
if you want to push an update for something not building, like Icecat, you could just post the patch here (or send it to me, as you prefer).

ok, that work, I'll just keep the kbdleds ready to submit.
Icecat I was able to get it to build and run once, didn't get it to install for some odd reason, but I'll need to refresh it anyway since Pat changed from ESR to mainstream so I'll need to update again and see if I can figure out what I did with the install part -- edit, I forgot icecat follows ESR.

Will do.

Yeah, the "RTL8192" as it exists now on SBo works only on 14.2. (This was to be expected as the vendor's release notes that I quote in the README state "kernels up to 4.9.60.") And while not "mandatory," strictly speaking, I do think renaming it with the "eu" intact is the way to go moving forward. (Since submitting my original last year, I've discovered that there exist several "flavors" of the 8192 chip--and, hence, several flavors of driver. I found this on the Debian wiki.) In light of this, I think the "eu" in the name is definitely to be preferred.

Ultimately, I would have to concur with your suggestion--i.e., to remove the "RTL8192" (v1.0) from your repository. We'll just make a clean break from the 14.2 version, and start fresh with the new submission to SBo when they re-open. Thanks for your prompt response on this.

By the way,

I was already thinking of moving wxGtk3 with the upcoming version. I need to check the freeze problem.

I think my earlier report on this one got lost in the shuffle. Darkplaces needs a patch for gcc-11 if building from source.

darkplaces-20140513-gcc-11.patch

I'm not sure what's happening there but I just tested building LibreOffice here and it went fine.

hmm, do you have java installed? I'm doing JAVA=no ./Libreoffice.Slackbuild
though I do have the AdoptOpenJDK Slackbuild installed and Minecraft for example recognizes it but the LO slackbuild didn't.

I have tested with jdk11 installed, as listed in the REQUIRES variable of the LibreOffice.info file.

if for you doesn't build with the default options the best way to have support is to report the issue to the maintainer.
