samba file have been tempered by mistake...

Hello all,
i was trying to configure samba on my linux machine.
Although samba and swat were already there but ignorantly i explicitly tried to install them.
samba through source( binaries ) and swat through rpms.
i tried samba with slapt-get too.
wasn't satisfied, so i manually removed the samba folder's wherever i found using
#locate samba
including /etc/samba
( i know this is not the right way to remove the packages installed through .tar)

then i retried to install it using source.
edited /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services to enable swat.
but now when i'm writing http://localhost:901/ in the browser...its generating the following error

Quote:
swat: error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.6.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
now what should i do ???
I think there wasn't any requirement to install samba or swat explictly. Am i right ???

regards

ok....i reinstalled the samba package from the first cd of Slackware 10.0.

#upgradepkg --install-new *.tgz

now swat is getting opened properly.
Now its strking me one thing that i must have installed older package of samba explicitly. Thats why this "upgradepkg" worked. Otherwise it would not have been.
What do u say ?

any other suggenstions ???

regards

If the package doesn't exist, that will force it to install it, instead of upgrading it.

That might install the code in different libraries than where Slack puts them.

Cheers,
Eddie
