require help with security

i am concidering running slackware full time, but comming from a windows pc which as a course of day to day runing have to have AV spyware/malware scanners and such i wondering if there are any tools i might need for linux - im aware that no win32 virus or spyware can cause me any problems under linux but i wandering if there is anything out there that might cause issues under linux.

I have a iptables script i made that blocks all access to my pcs unless they are on the lan, and i have a router so i feel i am quite secure but as we know there is no such thing as being too secure.

Thanks for your help

I wouldn't worry too much about viruses on Linux. What you might need is a tool to check for rootkits e.g. rkhunter and chkrootkit.
