So, for you Hibernate/Suspend and NetworkManager works great after latest updates? I'm happy for you!

The culprit behind the elogind/network trouble seems to have been identified, so hopefully a solution and an elogind-255.4_r3 is just around the corner:

Someone to tell that gentleman that elogind 252.23-r1 is also affected, and even in the same way. I tested this myself.

I think there could be 2 issues that have a similar behavior. One that we encountered in 255.4 and the second that was introduced in 255.4-r1

If you've encountered this, why not tell him yourself instead of hoping for "someone" to do it for you?

Personally I don't have the time to build and test another version, being able to check logs and so on. My priority is to have the latest release working.

I think there are already enough Slackers in that bug report.

BTW, the idea is that we risk solving only a second problem, introduced by r1, and we remain as at the beginning, as it was in 255.4

But the existing bug report has nothing to do with version 252.23-r1, for which you apparently have noted a similar problem. Wich also means that a new issue ought to be reported at github.com/elogind, and by someone who has experienced it, not by someone who has just heard about it - since that person can't describe what's actually happening.

This 252.23-r1 behaves the same as 255.4 and later versions, according to my experiments.

I raised this point only because I thought it was possible that a second problem was introduced in 255.4-r1 because it and 252.23-r1 have a similar modification, to avoid zombie processes, if I understood correctly.

Anyway, someone already raised this 252.23-r1's similar problem:

No, it will still be started by xdg autostart scripts, as previous version.

Sorry, maybe I'm wrong, but your priority does not match Slackware-current usage

Sloppy wording, sorry: my priority in this particular case is to get the latest version in the slackware repo to run without issues.

Maybe its time to pull in a few small wayland centric desktops based on wlroots for next slackware release? labWC (wayland openbox), lxqt-2.0 (explains itself), & sway (wayland i3)? The total sum in additional bytes for all binaries for all three together is small. Maybe its time for some stuff fresher than blackbox, fluxbox, and fvwm?
