It does require several packages and dependencies as described in the article. It would also have to be added to the Bootable Install Media as well as post-installation scripts. This would however get around the problems of dual-booting on systems that have no option to disable SecureBoot, or replacing the entire operating system as well as dual-booting on systems alongside Windows 11 which is currently in Microsoft's Insider Program and scheduled for release later this year.
okey , probably i miss something , im not see options on projects to build with pipewire , like --enablejack , or similar for pipewire , but apparently , pipwire goals to replace jack.
Then these days , im not sure if jack is a good or bad idea ...cause pipewire is part now -current.
It probably wouldn't be needed since Slackware has existing sound servers that work just as well as JACK does. Honestly, I would say keep JACK out in SBo and if a package needed it, allow the user to either enable the flag themselves with either an "if" existence check, or a # edit in projects that support JACK.
Unless a package hard requires JACK or anything really, it almost never gets added to the main tree.
Arround jack , i request at least 4 or 5 times, and no success , jack , can benefit other projects on slackware , like ffmpeg , gstreamer and other multimedia libs/apps.
audacious-plugins (autodetected only rebuild)
ffmpeg (add --enable-libjack)
fluidsynth (autodetected)
gst-plugins-good (autodetected)
mplayer (autodetected)
moc (--with-jack)
sdl2 (autodetected)
and more i lost , sure.
If you know better than Patrick Volkerding what to include in Slackware, you should also be able to explain the inclusion in a convincing way. The above is not that.
In this case repeating the request doesn't help, but creates distracting noise that hinders Slackware's progress.

If you know all , best than rest of users why loose your time here ?
I say i requested in the past , in my case because "recordmydesktop" , use jack to configure what audio stream you what to record , system sound mic ,or other sound fonts , cause recordmydesktop is now out, im not requested anymore.
Please, if you dont know all history no go here to make noise and disturb slackware progress, this is a request thread , not your opinions thread.
Next time you think im here distracting slackware development , go read changelog please.

I got no new info, but back in the day if i remember correctly the idea of Robby was to have a base texlive in Slackware 15.0 and have the remaining stuff at SBo. To me it seems it goes that route now. I assume there's no reason for Pat to have texlive-extra/-docs in /extra.

problem is nobody knows if Pat sees it, since he never acknowledges these types of posts, other distros do, even if its a turse closure of ticket without reason saying "not going to add" its at least, to the point, but thats where slackware falls off, not having a formal bug/request tracker.
I know we are on the cusp of a RC freeze; is there any chance NGINX and PostgreSQL could / would be added to the distribution in time for the next release? They have become a staple (for me at least) in development.
Distribution: slackware 15.0 64bit, 14.2 64 and 32bit and arm, ubuntu and rasbian

Rep:
adding autostartup of fcitx when users run x/wayland would allow them to run "system settings-regional settings" without having to manually run fcitx first.

There is autostart of both fcitx and ibus, you just have to specify in your bashrc that you want it. It works the same way as for 14.2 on SBo.
If that doesn't work, try adding it to your .bash_profile (for me those are the same, so perhaps I'm mixing them up)

Excuse my ignorance, BUT it is this .bash_profile executed somehow when the user logs in on Plasma5 from SDDM screen on runlevel 4?

I see. That makes sense. Thanks again @franzen for the guidance (and the updated scripts).
