The linux kernel 5.4.42 is in "stable-review" , that release have several patches for gcc-10 , probably thats the signal to merge ggc-10 to stock from testing.

NICE JOB THIS LAST WEEKS , CONGRATS!

Yes, I love to use my desktop as root from my USB hard drive, from where I do things like repartitioning hard drives from my boxes - some times, but usually repairing the broken boot from those named boxes.

Honestly, also I really love the kernel packages style of management (specially the upgrades) from Slackware, because it bite my hands almost weekly, forgetting to update the bootloaders.

That's WHY I have two USB hard drives, both with fully functional installations on them and kept up to date. One even have also Plasma5.

And I really do not care if someone manage to hijack my live system, because I have nothing important on it, which I cannot grab entirely from Internet in matters of hours.

So, please do not push in anyone mouth your security worries and guidelines...

Even the security should be taken with a bit of salt, to not become paranoia.

This is bogus reasoning. Even live distros can run as a regular user instead of root, look at my Slackware Live Edition.

Yep , but as i say , i test as regular user and not working here , only when remove uid , then run as a regular and as root.

Normaly , live distros runs as root , because its supposed are in a secured enviroment , *no production machine , but yes ..you can run as regular/root user , but i cant choose , if i dont know what PAM , change on this case.

In package "slackpkg"
file "/usr/libexec/slackpkg/core-functions.sh"

It would be good to replace "tempfile --directory=$TMPDIR" with "mktemp -p $TMPDIR" or "mktemp --tmpdir=$TMPDIR"

What's wrong with tempfile?
