I have noticed that PV and team are currently
very receptive to proposed changes and additions for the upcoming Slackware 13.37 so I thought I would add my own request as well
.
On reinstallation or upgrade the stock slrn slackbuild overwrites the vital configuration file for slrnpull: slrnpull.conf. This file contains not only the newsgroups requested for reading but also the numbers to be downloaded as well as the time the posts will remain in the spool. This can be avoided quite simply by altering the existing:
Code:
cp -a $PKG/usr/doc/slrn-$VERSION/slrnpull/slrnpull.conf $PKG/var/spool/slrnpull
to:
Code:
cp -a $PKG/usr/doc/slrn-$VERSION/slrnpull/slrnpull.conf $PKG/var/spool/slrnpull/slrnpull.conf.new
and then adding the following to the doinst.sh:
Code:
config slrnpull.conf.new
A small change but it saves scrabbling for backup copies of slrnpull.conf
