remote-viewer error: unsupported graphics type 'spice'

Now I can't connect to my Proxmox Virtual Environment.

I did a clean install of the current Slackware with the ISO dated Jul 06, then applied the updates from Wed Jul 7 20:50:57 UTC 2021. Including kernel 5.12.15

I built (ponce's current slackbuilds) the virt-viewer package with its dependencies:
Code:
virt-viewer
  gtk-vnc
  libvirt-glib
    libvirt
      yajl

Before the clean reinstall, I was able to connect to PVE with Slackware current.

Has anyone else had this issue.

you have to rebuild virt-viewer against the optional dependency (noted in its README) spice-gtk.

sorry, can you elaborate about which packages (names and versions) you have rebuilt and reinstalled and in which order?

I rebuild and reinstall (in order) these packages:

yajl-2.1.0-x86_64-2ponce.tgz
libvirt-7.4.0-x86_64-1ponce.tgz
libvirt-glib-4.0.0-x86_64-1ponce.tgz
gtk-vnc-1.2.0-x86_64-1ponce.tgz
virt-viewer-10.0-x86_64-1ponce.tgz

so you haven't built and installed spice-gtk (and its dependencies before that) before rebuilding virt-viewer like I suggested you in the second post, and so it's normal that you have the same errors then.

Wow ... what a mistake! I did not understand your recommendation well.
I thought that spice-gtk being optional was not necessary.

Is working now

Thank you very much, Ponce !!
