Reboot when hibernate

After changing to -current, I have this issue: when I try to hibernate (save states into disk), the laptop just completely restart from scratch.

I have tried both `pm-hibernate` and `echo shutdown > /sys/power/disk; echo disk > /sys/power/state`. Both just reboots the laptop from scratch. (I guess pm-utils eventually trigger the hibernate functions using the same /sys approach)

I will follow this article next to see whether the kernel will generate a hibernate image or not.

But I remember hibernate works on my laptop in -stable. Is it also related to my BIOS setting? Any suggestions?

To get hibernation to work on my laptop I needed to add the resume= kernel option to my lilo.conf so that the kernel knew where to load the system state from. Do you have resume=/dev/sda2 (where sda2 is the swap partition) or similar on the append line of your lilo.conf - if you are using lilo.

You are right. It works. Thank you! Additionally, I have to add a pm config file with `HIBERNATE_MODE="shutdown"`.
