reboot corruption memory (slack 9.1)

on my laptop switching to runlevel 6 corrupts the ram. the ramcheck then says something like

100234
FATAL
WROTE 1111111111111111
READ 1010101010101010

btw. on my desktop the ram stays ok but the hd cannot be found (at least by windows: it says something like "boot drive inaccessible")

turning the power off helps in both cases.

does anyone experience simlar problems?

Do RAM tests from other platforms (windows, dos, etc.) tell you you have bad ram? I'm thinking that this is a simple "You actually have bad RAM." situation.

i'm talking about the bios ramcheck at boot up. and normally it tells me everything is fine. only after a slackware reboot it finds errors in my ram.

Gee. I don't know about this one. Does it happen if you powerdown Slack, and then boot, or does it only happen after an on-the-fly reboot?
