/proc doesn't display all the info.

less /proc/swaps contains nothing when I know on hda7 I have 1gig of swap space. I have /proc support in the kernel. /proc does work since less /proc/scsi/scsi does give me my 2 emulated drives.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be.

(less /proc/swaps (or cat) will display the top part that explains what each sections are for, but nothing beyond that.)

Did you run swapon? If the swap partition isn't in your /etc/fstab, it's not going to be started. Or, if you removed the swapon portion of your /etc/rc.d/rc.S startup file, it won't be started.

Nothing was changed in fstab or rc.S (I hardly play with any rc to the exception of rc.firewall and rc.local)

Swapon runs at boot time..

Heh, problem solved. I did a swapon -a and it said the hda7 device didn't exist. So I ran cfdisk and noted that swap was hda6 and not 7... problem solved
