Now, certainly you are waiting for someone to ask what the PEBKAC bug is.
Ok, I'll take the blame and the shame... What is it? ;-)

Hello there. I downloaded slack 10.0 and i instll & compile kernel 2-6-7 from disk2.i try to make an initrd image to load the reiserfs libata and ata_piix.i execute this commands: mkinitrd -c -k 2.6.7 -m reiserfs:libata:ata_piix -f reiserfs -r /dev/sda2. i have the initrd in /boot
and lilo.conf looks like this:

image=/boot/vmlinuz
initrd=/boot/initrd.gz
label=2.6.7
read-only
so when the party begins i recieve this eror msg:

mount:mounting /dev/sda2 on /mnt failed:no such file or directory
error:mounting /dev/sda2 on /mnt failed: invalid argument
/boot/initrd:exiting
mounted devfs on /dev
pivot_rootivot_root:device or resourse busy
#

so any ideas?

dual monitors

only thing left is my dual monitor setup
xorg.conf
the above is my newly modified xorg.conf
i commented out twinview because it messes up everything.. it all displays in the middle, and i cant run my monitors at seperate resolutions. so i need to have my second monitor run independant of screen 1. i did this with fedora core 2. and i'm hoping i can do it with slackware. if not, its not the end of the world.. i would just like it..(i'm a desktop freak, and i like to see everything i have open)

ps.

mozilla stoped working on this site.. for some reason, the buttons dont work, so i opened it with another browser.. (just thought that was wierd)
