I searched both networking section and here, and couldn't find a solution that'd work for me... so I figured I'd ask. Would be great if anyone could either help me out or point to the place to read about it.
Here's a quick rundown: I have Slackware 9.1 machine, connected to the hub, which in turn is connected to a DSL modem. This setup worked great for me and I used pppoe software provided by my ISP.
Everything worked perfectly (except DNS resolve was kinda slow but thats another story) until the day that I tried to connect it with another linux machine on LAN, and tampered with netconfig.
Now no matter what I do, I can't connect to the internet.. I tried to change the config files in rc.d, tried to change /etc/resolv.conf, ran netconfig many times over and over again to no avail.
I can still connect using the pppoe software and the status script shows that I'm connected.
