Problem installing Slack

Hey i cant even get BIOS open on my computer. someone suggested just booting from a floppy disk. and doing the boot with cdrom support. but he didnt know if you could install slackware through DOS. plus i have the ISO Slack not the other. Any ideas how i can install Slackware?

I had the same problem. I'm using a Dell that never gives the option to enter BIOS. I installed slack by:

1 - downloading RAWRITE.EXE from ftp.slackware.com

2 - downloading one bootdisk and two rootdisk images (bare.i bootdisk, install.1 and install.2 rootdisks)

3 - from a DOS prompt, using RAWRITE to burn the images to three floppies. NOTE: I "borrowed" some used floppies from work. I had to discard and remake two of them because they had bad sectors or something and gave read errors when I went to the next step. Floppies seem to get less reliable every year.

4 - reboot your computer with the first disk in the drive. Insert the second disk when prompted, then the third.

5 - login as root and you're ready to install

Some systems just hide the option with a splash screen you can usualy get rid of it with either:
TAB
ESC

You should be able to get into the BIOS anyway by pressing:
DEL
F2
F1

hey you can press del ,f1 ,f2 but other than those keys
tell me your bios version .or you have upgrade your bios
and booting from floppy into dos don't work bcoz of the win controlled dos
doesn't recognizes your boot iso file (linux version).
only you can open ur cdrom

I cant boot from a floppy disk. because it seems that the computer does not first boot from A:. which is quite annoying. is there any way that i can actually load windows 98 (which is the current OS on the system), and go to like
Start > Shutdown > Restart In MsDos?

Plus i cant get into BIOS i have no idea why i can't ive tried to press all the F buttons and the Del button.
it just seems that entering BIOS is disabled. it does not ask to enter a password or anything. it just does not allow me into BIOS.
the computer im trying to install slackware is a few years old, and is bought from PC world. its an Intel Celeron, and has something about Acer or something. thats about all i know. lol.

Is it possible to use a friends system with my hard drive to install slackware on?
