printing problems after dropline upgrade

Please help with this:

Running Slack 9.0, with dropline gnome, and cups was working great. No printing problems. Just recently upgraded dropline with the dropline installer. Now, I cannot print from mozilla. I can print from the command line with lp and lpr, and abi word. I can print from other computers using Samba. Also, I cannot print a test page from cups admin. The jobs are aborted. When in mozilla, I changed the mozilla print command to lp (etc etc) - didn't print. I tried lpr (etc etc) - didn't work. I tried lpr-cups and lp-cups - didn't print. I installed the latest cups 1.1.19-i486. I don't know what to try next. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Nick

I think it is a problem with Mozilla 1.6. Anyone tried that one. Has anyone tried xprint?

Apparently, I had espgs-7.07 (ESP Ghostscript) and cups-1.1.18-i386 (or was it 1.1.19? ). I tried installing cups-1.1.20-i386 with no success. I had to uninstall espgs-7.07 and cups-1.1.20. Then I installed espgs-7.05.6-i386 (this I got from ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar.../slackware/ap/ ) and cups-1.1.18. Now it works. I'm not sure if dropline gnome changed any of these two. I just know that I had to try different versions of the two. After reinstalling cups, I had to re-edit /etc/cups/cupsd.conf. I had to re-edit /etc/cups/mime.convs, mime.types (for Samba printing)

oh linux
