The few that popped into my head all supported it. facebook.com, google.com, yahoo.com, slackware.com, www.af.mil, and wikipedia.org.

The only one that I tested that didn't get a response was duckduckgo.com

mtr listed 7 addresses including router and some isp servers, I think.

I ran slackpkg update it didn`t work but then I pinged Slackware mirror ip address and it worked

+1 #4!!!

Does
# mtr google.ie
show anything good/bad? I successfully: ping -c 2 google.ie

How about: ip r

Keep digging for more clues...
(Is web-browser [like firefox'ing LQ] working?)

sometimes the router can be configured to allow some host to see only the local/home network.
Do you have any other devices using this router?

What happens when using IP addresses rather than domain names? If pings with IP addresses succeed then there is a DNS problem.

Try editing your /etc/resolv.conf to have the following above any other nameserver lines:

Code:
nameserver 8.8.8.8
