Most linux machines have /etc/rc.local which gets executed as the last leg in the booting process. Adding route command in that file must bring back the static routes. If you want the static route to be used even before the system has completely booted up, you can investigate the /etc/init.d/ scripts and find out if you can customize any of them to include a static route.

Assuming rc.local is too late in the process, adding it to /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall is probably the most sensible place (create the file if it doesn't exist(and make it executable))

root@P5Q:~# which netconfig
/sbin/netconfig
root@P5Q:~#

As root run netconfig in a term or xterm or konsole etc.

netconfig then reboot or restart the network.

Can set/assign a static IP

That's one way to have a static IP.

Or, do you want different profiles with different routes in them?

I agree with mRgOBLIN.
I define my static routes as well in /etc/rc.d/rc.firewall - it seems to be called at the right moment to set your routes.
