Question pcmcia.dsk at installation

Has anyone had any problems (or success for that matter) with the pcmcia drivers disk used during the installation process of Slack 9?

I am installing it on my ThinkPad 560. When it prompts for the disk, it loads the drivers and starts pcmcia services, and my CD-Rom drive comes to life (the light comes on, disk spins etc.). I receive no error messages during this process.

However, when I continue with 'setup' it can't locate my CD-Rom and thus, I can't install the packages.

When I was running Slack 8, I had no trouble whatsoever with the cardbus drivers, and it located the CD-Rom drive at /dev/hdd. No such luck with version 9.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks!

I too am having this problem. I think this may be the solution but haven't tried it yet:
