Yes, 15.0 should be on your favorite mirror unless it's slow to update.

Just to get a hardware failure out of the way, does this grep return something?
Code:
zgrep '79.*off the bus' /var/log/syslog*gz
and if logs aren't compacted
Code:
grep '79.*off the bus' /var/log/syslog*
Example of output
/var/log/syslog-20210703.gz:Jun 18 11:41:20 paulo kernel: NVRM: Xid (PCI:0000:01:00): 79, pid=0, GPU has fallen off the bus.

Well, it's not yet on LinuxQuestions.org > ISOs > Slackware, which is my favorite site! I did snag a new ISO from https://mirrors.slackware.com/slackw...are64-15.0-iso.

Nope, nothing returned.

I've been experiencing a freeze about every other day with kernel 5.15.18. Unlike before 5.15.18 these are mostly irrecoverable. I can (usually) ssh in and 'init 3;init 4', but what happens is the console goes back to tty mode and I can see the init commands output, but the other screens stay with the frozen GUI and the system does not reset to init 4. I have to shutdown -r.

I see there is another kernel upgrade available. I'll keep trying, but I'll not upgrade my 14.2 KDE systems as long as this freeze persists.

I just updated to 5.15.27 from 5.15.19. 5.15.19 was pretty good as I was able to go as long as 20 days without a desktop freeze. Not so much for 5.15.27. After upgrading on April 2nd I've had 4 freezes in 3 days. I'll be reverting to 5.15.19.

In case anyone at Slackware is reading this stuff I have an AMD FX-8320E processor, 16G memory, two NVIDIA GK208B GeForce GT 710 video cards and 4 monitors. I suspect the problem is the 4-monitor configuration as Slackware 15 is the first version to support 4 monitors natively. Perhaps there are some issues. I've been using Slackware since the 90's, but I may look at exploring other distros since I can't have randomly crashing hosts in production. On the other hand, none of the production computers have 4 monitors, so maybe not a problem. On the other hand, Slackware appears to be the only distro that crashes the VirtualBox application when checking for VBox updates: https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...nt-4175707204/.

As reported in the thread
https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...og-4175710127/
problems with GK208 based cards can be solved by using Nvidia drivers, but if they are not suitable for your 4 monitors setup I have no advice.

Perhaps the solution would be to change video cards. Any suggestions before I randomly try cards that also might have issues?
