Nvidia driver doesn't work very well

Hi,
I am using slackware 10.0 with default kernel 2.4....
I' ve installed nvidia drivers.
I' ve changed xorg.conf, too.
It seems work but colors are strange, consumed and pixelly. and when I start an application the colors change completely, like a vga swapping....
The strange thing is that I' ve slackware installed on 2 pc and both do the same thing.

Here is my configuration:
1st pc
p3 500
mb asus
geforce2 200 mx 32mb

2nd pc
amd 1800xp
mb a7n8x-deluxe-e
geforce 4 440mx 64mb

Has anyone a solution for me?
I think it is a very common problem because all of my pc suffers from it....
although thanks in advance to anyone wants to reply.

Try to upgrade to Slack 10.1 following instructions below, then reinstall Nvidia drivers.
