about nv drivers

I configured my nvidia:
1.-run xorgconfig, this will show configurations options, follow them so you should configure it to use nvdia module automaticaly.

2.-after this run the installer of nvidia drivers, at this point the problem of kernel module should not appear

3.- you have to change your xorg.conf file in this line:

# Device configured by xf86config:

Section "Device"
Identifier "Nvidia"
Driver "nvidia" ------>here you should have nv instead of nvidia, so change it to nvidia
#VideoRam 65536
# Insert Clocks lines here if appropriate
EndSection

4.- all its done, have fun!!

if you do not have a riva chipset on your board you should be fine. i have a quadro chipset and use the 6111 driver just fine. simply ignore the warning

If I'm not mistaken, rivafb is already blacklisted in /etc/hotplug/blacklist by default so it shouldn't give you any trouble.
