Not installed packages and slackpkg

Today current had three upgraded packages and one rebuilt
Quote:
ap/nano-6.0-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded.
kde/kdepim-runtime-21.12.0-x86_64-3.txz: Rebuilt.
Rebuilt with the updated patch that was merged upstream:
[PATCH] POP3: Fix SSL/TLS connections
Thanks to gmgf.
n/bind-9.16.24-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded.
n/openvpn-2.5.5-x86_64-1.txz: Upgraded.
Using:
Quote:
slackpkg update
slackpkg upgrade-all
slackpkg install-new
I noticed nothing happened with kdepim-runtime, I look at all of my installed packages and it turned out that it wasn't installed. I was surprised the 'slackpkg install-new' didn't take care of this. I looked in the manpage of slackpkg and there it said:
Quote:
install-new
This action installs any new packages that are added to the official Slackware package set. Run this if you are upgrading your system to another Slackware version or if you are using -current.
If you want to install all uninstalled Slackware packages onto your system, use the following command instead of the install-new action:

# slackpkg install slackware.
Running the command gives:
Quote:
Looking for slackware in package list. Please wait... DONE

No packages match the pattern for install. Try:

/usr/sbin/slackpkg reinstall|upgrade
My question is how do I determine that I have complete Slackware install and if not, how to easily make it complete?

Also, you should be running install-new before upgrade-all. Otherwise if a package was added then upgraded in between your last and next upgrade you won't have the most recent version of that package.

Code:
slackpkg update
slackpkg install-new
slackpkg upgrade-all
slackpkg clean-system

Just FYI the order of update commands should be -
slackpkg update
slackpkg install-new
slackpkg upgrade-all

I doubt that will help with this problem but use it for future updates.

Hi, that's how I do it (it's in the manpage) but I messed up the order
in my post.
