no X-Video support

i just upgraded to kernel 2.6.16.5, got my ati drivers working, and everything is perfect with 1 exception. Im trying to play a dvd in MPlayer but it will not resize the video or anything. I tried using the option -vo xv but it errors out. xvinfo comes up with this screen #0 no adaptors present. I've tried recompiling MPlayer after the upgrades but to no avail. How do i get Xv working again??

btw, i'm referring to this

that

and this:

"USAGE METHODS. When VIDIX is used as subdevice (-vo vesa:vidix) then video mode configuration is performed by video output device (vo_server in short). Therefore you can pass into command line of MPlayer the same keys as for vo_server. In addition it understands -double key as globally visible parameter. (I recommend using this key with VIDIX at least for ATI's card). As for -vo xvidix, currently it recognizes the following options: -fs -zoom -x -y -double." (quoted from this page which I linked to above.

Perhaps you have a file ~/.mplayer/config

That is where you can specificy vo=xvidix (or whatever).

An example (not my personal one)

If you have a /usr/local/etc/mplayer.conf you may set options in that file, too. Note, however, if the configuration file is in both locations that the one in the ~/ directory will take precedence.

I've never used these files to configure mplayer so I am not personally experienced with it. Give it a try though. Good luck.
