No terminals!

Using 9.1, kernel 2.6.3.

I compiled a new kernel, with support for my tvcard sne some more, but that ended up in that I can't open any terminals. When I try to open for example aterm, it starts up with no text in it, I can type, but nothing will happen of course.. Here is my kernel .config. Has anyone got any idea?

I've also tried xvrt with no success (was preinstalled ). Many thanks in advance, Linux friends!
