No qt-doc after installation of qt-r1008952-i486-1.txz from dvd

Hi there,

yesterday I started with Slackware Linux and I think it is really great. But I wanted to program a bit with Qt. I don't want to let Firefox stay open with doc.trolltech.com because it eats too much ram and that's not necessary since I have Qt-Assistant (and Qt-Creator).
But Qt-Assistant and Creator just tell me that there is no documentation.

It seems that the official Slackware qt package does not deliver the documentation. I already searched the web but it seems that there is no single package and no alternative Slackware package.
I considered to rebuild qt on my own but just for the documentation?

Thanks

Official Slackware doesn't provide qt's documentation because it HUGE... However, there is a Slackbuild which you can build and install the docs in SBo: http://slackbuilds.org/repository/13...opment/qt-doc/

Yes! This is what I was looking for! Thanks

btw: The site http://packages.slackware.it/ which is linked on http://slackware.com/packages/ is currently offline. I wonder why they don't link SlackBuilds.org as well.

Yeah..although it's kind of silly that users have to download full source just to create qt-docs package.
I think HUGE is not a real problem ( about 120mb uncompressed for qtdocs 4.5.1 slackware 13.0) , qt docs were included in past slackware release right?

IMHO, Slackware team should have the prebuilt qt-docs package
in the official package (extra/ maybe?) and then let the users decide whether they want to install or not..
because I bet many slackware users are like to tinker with qt programming and installing your own docs is like a one more hassle thing to do.
programmer < power user < slackware user.
But oh well better slackbuild than nothing , tnx to grissiom

Sorry to bump, can't resist to express my little rant
