as to when will be released "when it's ready"

called what? how about year and day number?

14.0 would be 12.272, 14.1 13.308, 14.2 16.182

Every time someone asks about when the next Slackware version will be coming out makes it so the release date for the next Slackware and Half Life 3 gets pushed up 3 months.

You're probably right...
But one thing is true: it can take less then a year or more - it does not matter - but you will never be disappointed.
