Question Help What Next?

Like your guide the 1st to explain /dev/hdx convention which took me days to figureout as a newbie. Finished cd installation but when I type xf86config at root prompt i get something like it not a valid command or something. i am just using the bare.i kernel to boot and do not really know how to "fireup my favorite text editor" although I know basic command definitions from howtos, old official slackbook. My setup is: win98 hard drive hde w SY6BA+IV mobo, PIII 600E,640mb & Slackware10.2 hdg (160gb ata 100) that i fdisked as follows: hdg1 = / 4gb yes primary, hdg2 1280mb swap (82) primary, hdg3 /usr 80gb primary and hdg4 /home the rest(lolo) also primary, Formated w/ ext2. At bootup w/floppy i am asked to provide vga= something but they are not in kernel? What now? Please continue being as definitive as in your excellent installation post. Thnx

Since I posted this guide (which was a long time ago) xfree86 has been discontinued. It is now xorg-config if you have xorg installed. I no longer use slackware so I cannot gurantee what is used though I am pretty sure xorg replaced xfree86. (So make sure xorg is installed and not xfree86)
