Must have apps

I just got my laptop up and running with slack 9.0, fluxbox, openoffice, and xmame. I'm left wondering what other progs are out there that I should install.

Please share what your neccessary programs are.

don't feel you need some app just because. If you have a particular job you would like to accomplish, post your question based on that, and I'm sure someone will help you out. For a glimps of the stuff available, I guess you could go to freshmeat or Debian's package lists on their page.

If you want slack packs then I suggest looking over http://www.linuxpackages.net .

Nah I suspect he's like me and he wants lots of stuff to play with

I don't NEED much on my laptop beyond what he said, (Office, xmame, evolution) but I still LOVE to go on freshmeat and browse hehe.
